Publication design for Joy Hester: Remember Me
Client: Heide Museum of Modern Art
Date: 2020

Joy Hester produced some of the most distinctive and intriguing imagery to emerge in Australia during the 1940s and 1950s. Working almost exclusively with brush and ink, she focused on potent expressions of the human figure, using drawing as a vehicle to grasp life in all its complexity.

This book contains essays on her life and art, featuring large, full bleed reproductions of numerous photographic portraits by her former husband Albert Tucker and colour plates of her striking drawings and paintings.

A bold colour palette and uppercase typography demand that Hester retains her status as an artist to remember.
